ADP is hiring a Tax Specialist

The Tax team is responsible for monitoring, processing, and remitting more than 83 billion dollars annually to Government Agency Partners for ADP clients across all payroll platforms. The Tax team is responsible for all employer level tax exceptions, actioning internal and external client requests, preparing, and transmitting tax remittances accurately and timely to ensure compliance with all Government requirements.

As a Tax Specialist, you’ll be responsible for processing day-to-day transactions for Payment Operations with a primary focus on our core function, Tax Processing. Candidates for this position should be exceptionally organized while being detail oriented, have great audit and assurance capabilities, and an operational excellence mindset. This individual will work with Tax coordinators, Analysts, Consultant, and report to the Manager of Tax.

What you’ll do:

  • Your focus will be on tax remittance preparation, transmission, and validation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert. You'll address and investigate requests and issues from both internal teams and external clients regarding payroll tax situations. This may require researching Clients, Agency, and systems, to resolve issues in a timely, accurate and professional manner
  • Time Management. You will ensure all tax related tasks are completed in a timely manner. Tax batches are remitted according to timelines and deadlines set by Tax agencies, Bank partners, and ADP. Cases are actioned and requests are completed within set SLA’s.
  • Build and maintain relationships. You'll manage strong, healthy relationships with internal partners and clients, ensuring that expectations are clearly defined and met.
  • Work together with our internal support teams to ensure proper set-ups for our clients and client tax concerns are addressed. You will also participate in Year End planning and preparation activities.
  • Learn and teach. You will be supported in maintaining your knowledge and proficiency in payroll tax best practices and Agency updates. Participating in cross training opportunities and contributing to new hire training or team upskilling will also be required.
  • You will maintain current process standards and procedures while having the ability to strategically envision the end-to-end client experience. We want to see you challenge status quo and suggest change to improve efficiencies and/or client experience; special projects may be assigned, and you are encouraged to bring forth project ideas.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education or equivalent experience
  • Experience in operational processing and control procedures
  • Business experience with a background in Financial Services or Banking industry
  • P.C. Literate (MS Office -- Advanced on all components)
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment committed to teamwork and compliance

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. We offer the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Matched Retirement Savings, Wellness Program, Short-and Long-Term Disability, Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Paid Volunteer Time Off, and more. The compensation for this role is CAD $39,200.00 - CAD $62,700.00 / Year*

*Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state and local laws.

In Ontario and/or British Columbia (where applicable), the range shown represents the
expected total compensation, including vacation pay and bonus at target. Although bonus
has been calculated as part of the expected annual compensation for this role, bonus pay is
based on several factors, including but not limited to business performance, individual
annual performance, and company guidelines.
