ADP is hiring a DevOps / Systems Reliability Engineer for our NxtGen Reporting and Analytics team in ESI

In this role, you will help to stabilize and then upgrade the current generation reporting platform to the next generation Reporting and Analytics platforms for adoption across ESI. Working with US and ESI multi function teams you will build a highly reliable infrastructure, monitoring and technical support to a tier 3 level and a DevOps capability that delivers predictable and reliable deployments and upgrades.

This is a hands-on role; helping to build the automation and monitoring tools whilst collaborating with other associates in this multi functional team.

To thrive in this role, you'll have previous Microservices, Automation, and Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) experience. You should feel confident migrating data and systems between tech stacks. You will have worked closely with development teams and be passionate about automation. Ideally, Our best engineers stay current on industry best practices and maintain a good understanding of more than just the basic security terms and practices. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Across the various teams, we’ll start every day with a scrum(s), working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate priorities.
  • Collaboration and Communication. You’ll work closely with developers and operations when they need to find a solution quickly. You’ll listen to their needs, work collaboratively to find a solution through and then share it. You’re comfortable presenting to peers everything from system designs, process changes, to new ideas for technology to management of production incidents.
  • System Reliability. You will contribute in ensuring that the platforms and solutions are always available to our clients and in the event of an issue play a key role in the resolution of an incident and help deliver the corrective actions and improvements to prevent re-occurrence. You will contribute to the processes that meet the targets set for system reliability and security
  • CI/CD. You’ll be part of the team that helps products get to market faster and more reliably through secure automation. Your experience should fit well with our direction for CI/CD support for all our production solutions. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins will give you an advantage.
  • You will work closely with development teams across the organisation on improving security in the producets by collaboratively working to improve code before it goes live. Security is an evolving challenge and vital to our ecosystem. We need to be right every time, so hackers never get a chance.
  • You’re comfortable working on products with tech that we have never used before. We are building scalable solutions that are purposefully adaptable to grow as our clients’ businesses grow. We deliver highly automated, intelligent, and predictive solutions to the market; Inevitable challenges will arise, and we’ll rely on you to look for a solution.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar roles over your working career.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • You’ll have a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent derived from experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of system monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, diagnostic tools such as Nagios (or equivalent) and Splunk.
  • Well versed with approaches to the automation of deployments, maintenance and upgrades of the full stack for a solution i.e. OS, Database, application layer etc
  • Experience of working with AWS environments and tool sets
  • Experience of automation scripting
  • Experience of establishing monitoring and alerting regimes to drive a proactive approach to Reliability enhancement
