- Perform SQL Server installations, upgrades, migrations, and patching activities, including both in-place and side-by-side upgrade methodologies.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot SQL Server Always on Availability Groups (AON AG), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), clustering, disaster recovery, backup, and restore solutions.
- Implement and maintain least-privilege security models, user access controls, and SQL Server security best practices.
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases.
- Design and maintain HA/DR solutions using technologies such as Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
- Configure and manage Oracle RMAN backup and recovery processes.
- Apply Oracle Release Updates and security patches within organizational SLAs.
- Configure proactive database monitoring and alerting. Troubleshoot database outages and production incidents.
- Execute and validate automation workflows through Ansible Controller, including running and monitoring job templates.
- Support cloud-hosted database environments across AWS and Azure, with the ability to identify and work with:
- AWS EC2 instances
- Amazon RDS databases
- Azure IaaS virtual machines
- Azure PaaS database services
- Trigger and troubleshoot Terraform deployments, with the ability to analyze deployment failures and coordinate resolution.
- Develop, enhance, debug, and test automation scripts using PowerShell and YAML.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to implement automation and operational improvements.
- Utilize monitoring and observability platforms such as ServiceNow, SolveIT, and related operational tools for incident management, alerting, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale, highly available SQL Server & Oracle environments.
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation frameworks.
- Cloud certifications (AWS or Azure) and Microsoft SQL/Oracle certifications are a plus.
