Description
The API Engineering Consultant is a key member of the Implementation & Consulting Department, responsible for enabling seamless connectivity between ADP solutions and client enterprise systems. The role helps organizations maximize the value of their HCM, HR, payroll, and workforce management investments by designing, developing, and supporting secure, scalable, and reliable API-based integrations.
Key responsibilities:
API Engineering
- Development and implementation of REST-based APIs and integration services
- Creation and processing of JSON data structures
- Implementation of authentication and security mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, API keys, and token-based authentication
- Use of webhooks and event-driven integration scenarios
- Design and implementation of error handling, monitoring, and logging
- Ensuring performance, stability, and security of integration solutions
Data Management and Integration
- Creation and maintenance of data models and data mappings
- Execution of data validations and quality assurance measures
- Creation and optimization of SQL queries
- Analysis and documentation of data flows and interface requirements
Knowledge Development and Internal Consulting
- Supporting the development of internal API and integration expertise
- Creating standards, templates, and best practices
- Coaching and mentoring team members
- Conducting internal training sessions and knowledge transfer workshops
- Contributing to the advancement of integration methods and technical standards
Professional skills/experience requirements:
API and Integration Technologies
- In-depth knowledge of REST APIs and API architectures
- Experience with JSON and web-based interfaces
- Strong knowledge of authentication methods:
- OAuth 2.0
- API Keys
- Access Tokens
- Understanding of HTTP protocols and methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE)
- Experience with webhooks and event-driven integration processes
- Expertise in error analysis and API troubleshooting
Programming
