As a Client Service Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration, operational execution, and client servicing of Executive Deferred Compensation (EDC) plans. You will serve as the primary point of contact for plan administrators, ensuring clear communication, effective issue resolution, and an exceptional client experience while maintaining ownership of critical recordkeeping activities, transaction processing, and participant account maintenance.

In this role, you will combine technical expertise, operational excellence, and client-facing professionalism to ensure accurate and timely plan administration in accordance with plan provisions and applicable guidelines. You will also act as a key liaison between operations and ADP GPT, supporting system enhancements, issue resolution, testing, validation, and ongoing monitoring to ensure a high-quality client experience.

The ideal candidate combines deep operational expertise, technical proficiency, and strong client relationship management skills with a proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership in a highly accountable environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

Plan Administration & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain ownership of Executive Deferred Compensation plan recordkeeping activities, including payroll processing, contribution reconciliation, investment option updates, dividend posting, participant account maintenance, statement generation, and participant distributions.
  • Process transactions accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with plan provisions and applicable guidelines.
  • Monitor plan activity, identify discrepancies, and take proactive action to resolve issues.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of participant and plan data across all administrative activities.

Client Service & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EDC plan administrators through phone and email interactions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.
  • Take ownership of client inquiries and issues, ensuring timely resolution and a high-quality client experience.
  • Provide guidance and education on plan operations, processes, and service-related best practices.

Systems & Vendor Partnership

  • Serve as the primary liaison to ADP GPT for system-related initiatives and support activities.
  • Partner on system releases, enhancements, issue resolution, defect tracking, and ongoing system monitoring.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and quality review activities to support successful system updates.
  • Track, escalate, and follow through on system-related issues until resolution.

Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Train and support frontline participant service team members on EDC plan processes and operational procedures.
  • Develop and maintain clear operational documentation and process materials.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for complex plan administration and operational inquiries.

Operational Readiness & Support

  • Participate in operational readiness activities, including system releases and disaster recovery testing.
  • Support critical business processes and continuity planning efforts.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts that enhance operational effectiveness and client satisfaction.

Experience. You have 5+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Experience in a client-facing financial services, retirement services, benefits administration, or related operational environment, with hands-on 401(k) plan recordkeeping and administration experience.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with experience supporting plan administrators and managing client communications professionally and effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently represent the business in meetings with clients, leaders, and cross-functional partners while navigating complex issues and driving resolution.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders, including the ability to communicate operational needs, support testing and validation activities, and assist with issue identification and resolution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve operational or data discrepancies while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled tools and technology solutions to improve efficiency and support business processes.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, perform effectively during peak workload periods, and maintain a strong focus on client outcomes.
  • Availability to work outside standard business hours when needed, including extended hours during peak processing periods, month-end activities, the month of January, and occasional weekends or early mornings.
  • You'll have a bachelor's degree or equivalent.

For additional comfortability in the role:

  • Experience supporting Executive Deferred Compensation (EDC) plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, or similar retirement plans.
  • Experience with payroll processing and contribution reconciliation.
  • Nonqualified Plan Consultant (NQPC™) certification preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar professional certification is a plus.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. We offer the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Matched Retirement Savings, Wellness Program, Short-and Long-Term Disability, Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Paid Volunteer Time Off, and more. The compensation for this role is USD $69,300.00 - USD $129,200.00 / Year*

*Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state and local laws.
