The ADP Innovation Labs is looking for a Software Architect to help define some of its next generation products.

The Software Architect will be responsible for investigating, designing and implementing technical solutions, and working with the lean/agile teams to implement them. These activities include, but are not limited to, documenting Domain Models, writing and maintaining API schemas and documentation, contributing to the ADLC and software development processes, and working hands on to the coding of production code, automation, and supporting tools using the NodeJS, DSQL and GraphQL.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Build Products. You will use your technical expertise to review your team's work and help your people excel in an Agile environment. You're proactive and hands-on. When you see a potential issue, you never leave things hanging and unfinished. When you and your team deliver a finished product, it's as polished as you could make it.
Variety of work. There is no typical day. You could be checking in with a team in India one minute, meeting with leadership to review initiatives for the coming quarter later and tomorrow handling a few ad hoc requests from your peers in other departments.
Influence and inspire confidence. You are comfortable presenting to senior leaders, product owners, and peers with a compelling voice that you demonstrate through executive presence, leading change, and creating clear executive-level communications on milestone achievements.
Experience. You have 10-12 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

Responsibilities:

Lead discussions between domain experts to extract the necessary information to develop an accurate model.
Quickly understand complex business domains and translate them into scalable, high-performance, secure, and maintainable solution designs.
Hands on maintain and contribute to the codebase (This is a hands on role with 50-50 architecture/code split)
Create and maintain Domain Models as part of the Architecture/Development team
Create and maintain API and Solution documentation
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to architecture standards
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Domain Experts to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Qualifications:

Four-year college degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
TDD experience a must. We aim to automate all quality gates.
Strong problem solving, analytical skills and interpersonal skills.
Strong project and time management skills including multi-tasking in fast-paced development environments.
ADLC experience
Proficiency translating complex solutions into UML diagrams on Enterprise Architect, Mural, or Similar tools
Experience with at least one of the following programming languages: NodeJS, Python, Go.
Experience with tools such as Cloud technology: AWS, Jenkins and Docker
Experience as an API or backend developer.
Experience in SOX compliant systems, E-Commerce, and/or Cybersecurity a big plus.

AI/ML Foundational Proficiencies:

AI/LLM Exposure. Familiar with major AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, others) and ability to leverage to enhance products and features.
AI-Assisted Dev Tools. Proficient with coding tools (ChatGPT, Claude, CoPilot, Amazon Q, Cursor, etc).
AI Best Practices. Effective prompt engineering, performance optimization, and secure data handling.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. We offer the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Matched Retirement Savings, Wellness Program, Short-and Long-Term Disability, Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Paid Volunteer Time Off, and more. The compensation for this role is USD $123,400.00 - USD $303,800.00 / Year*

*Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state and local laws.
