ADP is hiring a Lead Oracle CPQ Engineer

In this role you will be working alongside a team of friendly, passionate, and creative configuration engineers and developers to align internal sales technology to business goals. As a key member of the Digital Sales Technology team, you will be responsible for designing and developing comprehensive solutions to support the sales process and improve productivity. You will utilize analytical skills to solve problems and make recommendations, and build strong relationships with sales and key stakeholders and will lead projects of high complexity that have broad organizational impact leveraging mobile enterprise solutions including Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ).
You will start your day on a status call to prioritize and track work. Within the team you work on, you will choose cases to work within a release cycle. You will spend most of your day developing and testing your code. Every two weeks, you will be involved in the release activities.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- You’ll need demonstrated experience managing multiple projects involving the development and design of solutions for sales, implementation or legal functions. Strong team leadership and ability to delegate responsibility to all levels of the project team and hold team accountable for deliverables.
- At least 5-8 years’ professional experience, with 3+ years hands-on configuration experience with CPQ or other similar tools.
- Oracle CPQ Cloud/BigMachines Blue Belt Certification or Oracle CPQ Cloud Certified Implementation Specialist certification preferred.
- Strong track record of success working with a full spectrum of tools needed to understand sales process and design, CPQ or other pricing solutions, salesforce.com and other technologies that support a large sales or implementation organization.
- Strong Business Analysis skills with demonstrated ability to capture complete, concise, and accurate business requirements to meet strategic objectives. Agile or Kanban experience preferred.
- Self-motivated, with strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both business executives and technical staff and convey complex ideas. Strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, think and act strategically.
- Work well under pressure with high tolerance for stress.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills for managing multiple diverse and conflicting activities,
- Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining the big picture of the overall system design.
- Anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Assigns tasks to appropriate cross functional resources and follows up. Strong customer service focus.
- Experience with ADP products/industry a plus.
- You’ll have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
As a Lead CPQ Engineer, you will work closely with your team to lead and guide projects to success. You’ll have a hands-on role designing, developing, debugging, and deploying software solutions where you can leverage your expertise with code complexities. You’ll also serve as a mentor to the junior developers. In the senior role, you will balance the assigning of cases through prioritization and consideration of the technical interests of each developer on the team. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:
- Release. You’ll start each day with a status, working in a team to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities while choosing cases to complete. You will also participate in other releaes activities, including code reviews, scheduled case demos, where you will present your work to stakeholders. You will ensure business realization of strategic objectives through the management of multiple highly complex features with multiple dependencies. Lead all solution phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure. Assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues.
- Development. Working in Bi-Weekly releases, you will ensure business realization of strategic objectives through the management of multiple highly complex features with multiple dependencies. You will also be leading all solution phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure. In addition, you will assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues. You will use your technical expertise for hands-on configuration and optimization of enterprise-wide Oracle CPQ Cloud solution. Create end-user testing scripts and release notes and lead UAT sessions. You wil also partner with CPQ Product Manager to capture accurate and complete Business Requirements for system enhancements from sales, implementation, legal, finance and other functional groups. You must keep up with timelines and coding standards. Most of your daily schedule will be software development, but you will also test your code before submitting it to QA for final testing. You won’t just focus on development in this role. You will also be responsible for testing and deployment.
- Variety of work. There is no typical day. You could be checking in with a team in India one minute, meeting with product owners to review new requirements for the coming release later and tomorrow handling a few ad hoc requests from your peers in other departments. You are expected to work collaboratively with other functional groups, and GPT Consultants as a functional expert in CPQ domain, providing insight into potential process and technology solutions to business problems. You will ensure that all solutions are aligned to GPT and ADP strategic objectives. Provide input to improve processes and procedures to enhance the sales and client experience. You will cultivate and leverage relationships with business stakeholders and GPT partners to influence, drive consensus, and resolve conflicts. You will be aligning schedules, priorities and resources across multiple parallel projects.
- Continuous Learning. You will actively coordinate and communicate process and system changes with cross-functional teams. Uphold release management best practices, both internally and from the vendor. You will stay current with sales technology, industry standards and best practices.
- Support& Problem-Solving. For the products currently we use, you will require to research, diagnose, resolve and document system issues to support project team and provide advanced support to end-users. You’ll start those days with your regular work activity but will have to switch gears to a support role as needed.
